[14 January, 2026, Beijing] Recently, as a locally-produced Mercedes-Benz GLC L rolled offline, it has propelled BBAC’s cumulative vehicle production past the milestone of 6 million. This follows another milestone achieved in 2025, when its cumulative engine output surpassed 6 million units. Consequently, BBAC has officially entered the “Dual 6 Million Era” in the very first month of the “15th Five-Year Plan” period. Following this, BBAC is fully prepared for the ramp-up of new products in 2026, including the all-new electric GLC L.

Jörg Bartels, President and CEO of BBAC, stated: “Surpassing 6 million units in both vehicle and engine production is the inevitable outcome of our continuously expanding product portfolio, increasingly sophisticated manufacturing platforms, and continuously upgraded manufacturing capabilities. As we step into the 'Dual 6 Million Era', we will continue to uphold the benchmark ‘Mercedes-Benz Standard' regarding manufacturing technology and quality and strive to build the most desirable vehicles for Chinese customers.”

Zhang Zhengye, Party Secretary and Senior Executive Vice President of BBAC, emphasized: The arrival of this 'Dual 6 Million Era' highlights not only BBAC's innovative strength in the field of electrification, but also reflects our continuously enhanced production efficiency and systemic capabilities. It lays a solid foundation for the offline of new Mercedes-Benz models this year. The strong start has well positioned us as “15th Five-Year Plan” commences, accelerating the transformation and setting us on a new growth path for high-quality development.”

The breakthrough of 6 million cumulative vehicles underscores BBAC's commitment to continuously optimizing its product portfolio--a lineup undergoing ongoing refinement and upgrades. Since the launch of its first E-Class model in 2005, BBAC has successfully ramped up 14 Mercedes-Benz models, adhering to the concept of “Made in China, for China”. This includes 8 fuel models and 6 electric models, consistently delivering the most intelligent and advanced premium mobility experiences to Chinese customers.

The “6 million” milestone represents not only a significant production achievement for BBAC, but also industry and consumers recognition of its quality. Over the years, Mercedes-Benz models built at BBAC have garnered numerous accolades: led the China Automobile Customer Satisfaction Index (CACSI) in the category for fuel vehicles and topped the Automotive Quality Research (AQR) for driving experience quality of premium sedans. This demonstrates that its products can withstand the rigorous test of the market scrutiny.

The consistent delivery of premium products stems from BBAC's world-leading manufacturing system and continuous innovation capabilities. By implementing the Digital Production Ecosystem Mercedes-Benz Cars Operations 360 (MO360), BBAC fully leverages digital technologies such as the Internet of Things, big data, industrial internet, and MES systems. This enables digital management of the entire process, from R&D and manufacturing to quality control and logistics, ensuring the commitment to “One Brand, One Quality”.

Additionally, BBAC has promoted a company-wide continuous improvement plan for years, encouraging innovation among employees at all levels. For instance, a panel noise reduction project, spearheaded by many R&D engineers, successfully resolved a long-standing challenge to industry. Through its masterful craftsmanship and leading-edge operations, BBAC has successively received numerous accolades, including titles such as “Factory of the Year”, “Sustainable Plant Model”, “Quality Management Award of the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality”, and “Beijing Advanced Intelligent Plant”.

Since its establishment in 2005, BBAC has constantly adhered to a high-quality development strategy. Through deep collaboration between its shareholders, BAIC Group and Mercedes-Benz Group, the company has established a comprehensive manufacturing system encompassing rear-wheel-drive, front-wheel-drive, electric vehicles, engines, and batteries. With flexible production capabilities across multiple platforms and vehicle models, it has become one important production base within the Mercedes-Benz global production network. Concurrently, BBAC champions low-carbon principles of sustainable development. Not only did it pioneer the manufacturing enterprises in China to introduce the “Lush Mountains Book Corner” but also transformed the MFA Plant into a “Zero-Carbon Plant”, becoming China’s first automotive base to achieve ISO14068-1:2023 carbon neutrality certification.

At the outset of the “15th Five-Year Plan” period and the “Dual 6 Million Era”, BBAC will continue to introduce more future-oriented electric and intelligent products under the strategic guidance of its shareholders, BAIC Group and Mercedes-Benz Group. BBAC will harness the formidable “BBAC strength” to contribute to the high-quality development of the capital's economy and the automotive industry.
