[April 29, 2025, Beijing] Recently, the giant autobot model “Vehicle God No. 1” created by BBAC was unveiled in Shougang Industrial Heritage Park. The industrial art installation, measuring 5.8 meters high and 4.5 meters wide with a mass of 3.65 tons, will serve as a continuous exhibition in Shougang Park, providing a striking example of the fusion of high-end automobile manufacturing and industrial art. “‘Vehicle God No. 1’ integrates the century-old brand heritage of Mercedes-Benz and the leading processes and technology of BBAC,” said Jörg Bartels, President & CEO of BBAC. “It is a reflection of our commitment to ‘The best or nothing.’ as well as our pursuit of industrial aesthetics, as the sculpture creatively brings new life to scrapped parts. These same values are now guiding BBAC in accelerating the SoP of new products, to provide Chinese customers with more high-quality sustainable mobility choices.” “This artwork is filled with the impeccable craftsmanship of the BBAC team, and embodies a interpretation of our unwavering commitment to the concept of sustainable development,” said Zhang Zhengye, Party Secretary and SEVP of BBAC. “The arrival of this mechanical sculpture in Shougang Park not only showcases BBAC's exceptional pursuit of industrial design aesthetics and steadfast commitment to accelerating its strategic transformation of ‘low-carbonization’, but also stands as a breathtaking new landmark for industrial tourism in Beijing.” As a tangible embodiment of BBAC's sustainable development philosophy and green manufacturing system, the entire structure of “Vehicle God No. 1” is crafted with scrapped components sourced from production processes of the models such as E-Class L, GLC L SUV and C-Class L. In this installation, the taillights are transformed into the piercing eyes of “Vehicle God No. 1”, the tires and front-end metal plates are transformed into muscular arms and a strong chest, and the doors are transformed into wings, all imbued with the infinite creativity of industrial regeneration. The recycling and regeneration using of discarded components has also become the latest artistic achievement of BBAC’s green manufacturing. Additionally, BBAC has developed a complete green manufacturing system through its implementation of green plant, green production, green logistics and clean energy. In recognition of these achievements, the company was named “China's Top Runner for Industrial Carbon Peaking” at the end of last year, acknowledging that BBAC provides a replicable model for the collaborative low-carbon transformation of the industry. As part of the company’s practice of sustainable development, the creation of “Vehicle God No. 1” also showcases the consummate craftsmanship of BBAC. In the 11-month production process, the core production team composed of 11 members from BBAC MRA II Body Shop utilized their off-duty hours to transform cold metals into a visually striking industrial sculpture entirely by hand. Such craftsmanship, founded on a meticulous work attitude and relentless pursuit of perfection, is deeply rooted in BBAC's corporate spirit of “The best or nothing.” In production and manufacturing, BBAC relentlessly pursues excellence by actively exploring the in-depth application of cutting-edge technologies such as digital twins, AI and humanoid robots, striving to build the best vehicles in China through its precision-driven intelligent manufacturing system and product quality that meets Mercedes-Benz's global standards. As a leader among high-end automobile manufacturing enterprises in Beijing, BBAC is dedicated to accelerating the cultivation of new quality productive forces, joining hands with upstream and downstream strategic partners such as Shougang Group to drive industrial upgrading with technological innovation and promote the continuous high-end, intelligent and green transformation of the high-end automobile manufacturing industry in Beijing, so as to promote the high-quality economic development of China’s capital city. |
