Facilitate Talent Training Upgrade through International Platform -- BBAC Brand-New Training Center Officially Launched

On June20, 2016, the inauguration ceremony of BBAC Training Center was held grandly themed with “Joint Efforts Create Future, Road to Excellence”. The guests present and attendees included Mr. Juergen Hartwig (HR EVP of Daimler Greater China Ltd.), Mr. Feng Jingping (Deputy Director of the Management Center and Director of HR Management Department, BAIC Motor Corporation Ltd.), Mr. Peter Schabert (BBAC President & CEO), Mr. Chen Hongliang (BBAC Party Secretary & Senior Executive Vice President) and Mr. Lu Yang (EVP of HR and Integrated Business Management of Beijing Mercedes-Benz Automotive Sales Services Co., Ltd.), as well as BBAC management team and employee representatives, representatives of university partners and supplier representatives. The launch of this brand-new training center will fully integrate teaching and learning resources, optimize the training system and serve as an internationalized platform for cultivating high-caliber automotive personnel for BBAC.

At the ceremony, Mr. Peter Schabert, President & CEO of BBAC, expressed, “In the first quarter of 2016, Mercedes-Benz sales hit a record high in the Chinese market, most of which the domestically-produced models. Meanwhile, all-new long wheelbase E-Class, known as the most intelligent executive sedan in the world, will make its global debut at Beijing Motor Show five days later. Now, we are actively preparing for this show to present this intelligent masterpiece with the best quality for users. We couldn’t achieve this goal without the highly skilled talents. So, we must capitalize on the role of the training center, train more and more excellent talents and promote the development of BBAC! ”

Undoubtedly, for BBAC bearing the mission of “Building Mercedes-Benz in China” in the new era, high-end talents are a foundation for its sustainable development. Therefore, centering on the operation management and personnel development strategy since its establishment, BBAC has built a training system based on the dual platforms of software and hardware, with “course, trainer and operation systems” as the channel. It covers training for new employees and overseas projects and on leadership and professional skills, greatly promoting the talent development. “This brand-new international training building by following Daimler standard fully demonstrates the close attention paid by BBAC to talent training, representing that BBAC has established a talent training system aligning with Daimler benchmark in both hardware and software aspects. Of course, the official use of the new BBAC Training Center realizes the connection between BBAC’s training platforms and Daimler’s internationalized training model, offering strong support for the further improvement of training systems. “In recent years, Daimler and BBAC have yielded many major results in training and qualification accreditation. Today, the launch of the training center will become a new milestone in BBAC training development, fully support the talent development of BBAC and Daimler in China and help us to achieve remarkable progress in talent training. ” As stated by Mr. Juergen Hartwig (HR EVP of Daimler Greater China Ltd.). This international training center is equipped with cutting-edge international training concepts and globally leading technology facilities. Covering an area of about 10,000m2, the Training Center consists of 31 International rooms for MPS (including Daimler’s first MPS training rooms), electricians (including Daimler’s first electrician training room composed of 13 modules), automation, robots, finished vehicles, and engines, accommodating up to 1,000 employees to receive training here. This training center put into operation represents that BBAC training hardware facilities have reached internationally leading standards and teaching resources are also further integrated and improved. To a large extent, it will promote the training system towards comprehensive, effective and practical development and comprehensively improve enterprise training capacity and actual effect.

Thanks to the high-quality talent training efforts, BBAC has owned a highly skilled talent team to upgrade comprehensive enterprise capacity and leapfrog development of China’s automotive industry. Now, the senior workers of BBAC have reached 1,885, taking up 22.76% of the blue-collar workers and taking the lead in the national trade. Meanwhile, 70 technicians are employed as section chiefs, achieving a shift from skilled staff to skilled management staff. On this basis, many outstanding personnel stand out and make many achievements in occupational skill competitions at Beijing Municipality level, national level and even world level. In the World Forklift Championships 2014 and 2015, the BBAC team, on behalf of China, ranked second and third at team competitions. The Chinese flag was raised in the arena, a supreme honor for the Chinese automotive workers.

In addition to this, to build a team with comprehensive capacity up to the highest Daimler standard and meeting higher requirements of new technology application on manufacturing process, BBAC has sent employees to Daimler headquarters to participate in training on new projects and series production since 2011, with a total of training hours of 1,962 people/month. These employees receiving training in Germany not only accept strict assessment of Daimler AG, but also work with German colleagues at the production line of Daimler AG German plant. They need to pass all theoretical and practical examination before returning to China. Finally, 1,174 excellent workers successfully completed the training. They not only master the world leading manufacturing process of Mercedes-Benz, but also understand German’s meticulous attitudes and intransigence. They become seed trainer and unreservedly transfer these skills and knowledge to more colleagues in their respective posts. So far, 8,500 employees have received re-training, greatly improving the overall team capacity.

Also, in the team with marching towards excellence as its goal, many model talents appear like Mr. Zhao Yu (National Model Worker), Mr. Zhao Bin (Learning Star of Capital), Mr. Liu Xixin (a winner of National May 1 Labor Medal), Mr. Liang Kang, Mr. Zhang Zhiyong and Mr. Zhao Sai (Beijing Labor Medal), Mr. Yang Cheng (Beijing Model Worker) and Mr. Xu Honghai (Chief Technician). Their courage to face difficulties, persistence, innovation boldness and pursuit for excellence reflect the BAIC Craftsman's Spirit of “Tenacity, Persistence, Concentration and Extreme” and inspire more and more BBAC personnel to work hard to help BBAC develop faster and realize the strategic goals of BAIC Group earlier. The operation of the Training Center means that BBAC talent training has stepped into a fast development period.
