BBAC successfully passed the audit of ISO/TS16949:2009, which is issued by international Automotive Task Force (known as IATF), and obtained the certificate in 2013, becoming the very first Chinese JV that embraces such honor.
In the world of automobile manufacturing, the obtainment of the ISO/TS16949:2009 certificate is a recognition that the manufacturer is at world-class, in terms of its process standards, as well as its product quality. Compared to ISO9001, which is commonly used as quality system, the ISO/TS16949: 2009 includes all the ISO9001 provisions, and it has more demands and stricter controlling over the process, including pre-designed controlling program for product quality and approval procedure.
IATF is specialized for the coordination of automobile quality system worldwide by the major auto makers and automotive associations. The current version, namely ISO/TS16949:2009, is the latest version of this kind. It is exclusive for complete vehicle maker and its first-layer component suppliers. Up to now, BBAC has been the very first JV auto maker that has gained such certificate.
As early as 2011, BBAC started implementing the ISO/TS16949 system which has indeed improved the efficiency of operational processes, enhanced quality risk identification as well as precaution action plan, and raised the awareness of all the employees. Over 600 processes, methods and operation guidances have been established within the two-year implementation, with the utmost support of the management of all levels and enthusiastic participation of all employees.
In the year 2013, the updating of ISO 9001 to ISO/TS 16949 was furthermore enhanced. In total, 45 processes and 700 more pieces of guidance were drafted and issued, which have laid solid foundation for the final pass of the audit and the obtaining of the certificate.
Introduction of the certifying authority: TUV Rheinland Group is one of the largest independent institutions in management system certification, product safety examination and product quality certification, and also the earliest institution that obtains the ISO/TS16949 and VDA6.1,6.2,6.4 accreditation of IATF and VDA-QMC in automotive industry.
